I grew up figure skating in Duluth, Minnesota, and have been involved in coaching since 2012. I began by teaching Learn to Skate classes alongside experienced coaches who mentored me in the fundamentals of instruction and athlete development. Throughout high school, while competing as a skater myself, I continued coaching Learn to Skate and gained experience working with skaters of all ages and abilities, from toddlers as young as two years old to adults. Since 2023, I have also been coaching private freestyle lessons.
My goal as a coach is to help skaters build confidence, develop strong technical skills, and achieve their individual goals both on and off the ice. Whether a skater is learning foundational skills, preparing for tests, or pursuing competitive aspirations, I strive to create a positive, supportive, and disciplined environment where athletes can thrive. I believe that fostering a love for the sport, alongside dedication and hard work, helps skaters reach their full potential.
Outside of coaching, I earned my Ph.D. in Integrated Biosciences from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2026, following completion of my M.S. in Integrated Biosciences in 2022 and my B.S. in Biochemistry and B.A. in Chemistry in 2020. In addition to coaching, I work in the environmental toxicology field within the government sector. My scientific background brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to coaching while maintaining a fun, encouraging, and athlete-centered atmosphere at the rink.
