Kjerstyn Hall brings over 25 years of competitive figure skating and dance experience to SC Du Nord, along with a genuine passion for developing athletes who love the sport as much as she does. A U.S. Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist and four-time Intercollegiate National Champion skating for Boston University, Kjerstyn competed at the regional, sectional and National level and understands firsthand what it takes to excel both technically and artistically on the ice. Her background as a competitive dancer gives her a creative edge that sets her choreography and coaching apart - blending precision, musicality, and storytelling in a way few coaches can.

Before returning to the U.S., Kjerstyn served as Head Coach and Skating Director of a competitive skating club in Norway, where she led a team of seven coaches and developed more than 70 competitive skaters — including national-level competitors and Norwegian National Team members. She has choreographed and coached athletes who have earned podium finishes at both national and international events, and was selected as one of six finalists in the American Ice Theatre Young Artists Showcase Worldwide competition, earning recognition for the most diverse body of choreographic work. She also taught the American Ice Theatre's Master Choreography Techniques course, mentoring the next generation of choreographers.

At SC Du Nord, Kjerstyn's approach is rooted in athlete-centered coaching that builds technical excellence alongside confidence and character. With a strong emphasis on choreography and freestyle development — helping skaters build and refine jumps from the ground up and simultaneously helping them grow artistically— she meets each skater where they are and pushes them toward their next breakthrough on the ice. She believes that the discipline and perseverance developed through skating extend far beyond competition, and her goal is to develop the whole person first, skater second. The values, resilience, and confidence built on the ice are lifelong gifts, and every skater who steps on the ice with Kjerstyn leaves with more than just stronger technique — they leave with a stronger sense of who they are.
